I hold a Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in Music from Duke University, and have been teaching professionally for over twenty years.

In my earlier years, I nurtured a love for artistic expression as an award-winning classical performer. Later, I played in rock and pop bands and honed the ability to improvise -- an exciting musical journey that has transformed the way I approach the instrument.

As a mentor, I draw from a lifetime in the musical realm as well as two decades of experience in business and entrepreneurship. One of my greatest joys is guiding those who may not consider themselves "creative" to discover a new side of themselves.
